Who we are

Black Light Logic LLC (“Black Light Logic”, “we”, “us”) is an independent software company based in Fargo, North Dakota, United States. We publish apps on Google Play under the developer name Black Light Logic LLC and are responsible for the information described in this policy.

This policy covers blacklightlogic.com and our Android apps. DocuMemory has its own privacy policy, available at documemory.dev.

Because we're based in the United States, information we process is handled in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.

This website

blacklightlogic.com has no accounts, forms, analytics or advertising trackers. When you visit:

• Hosting. The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Fonts. Typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
• Theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
• Cookies. We don't set cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to tell people and bots apart.
• Email. If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply, and delete the conversation once it's no longer needed.

Our Android apps

Our apps are built to work on your device and to ask for as little as possible.

• On-device first. Content you create in our apps is stored on your device unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
• Permissions with a purpose. We request an Android permission only when a feature needs it. You can review an app's permissions at any time in your device's Settings.
• Ads. When a free app shows ads, they come from Google AdMob, and Google collects some device information to show them. Each app's policy lists exactly what, and how to change your ad choices.
• Google Play. Downloads and purchases are handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy. We never receive your payment details.

None. Scores, unlocks and settings stay on your device.

Advertising

Free version only. Google AdMob shows occasional ads and collects device identifiers, approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostics. The paid version has no ad code.

Purchases

“Remove Ads” and the paid version are handled by Google Play. We never receive your payment details.

How we share data

We don't sell your personal information. We share data only:

• With service providers that help us run our products, such as hosting, who may use it only on our behalf and under confidentiality and security obligations.
• With advertising partners, in free apps that show ads. In the free version of Petal Lasso, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects information directly from your device to show and measure ads, as described in its policy.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or Black Light Logic.
• As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
• With your consent.

Security

Data we handle is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, access is limited to the people who need it to run our products, and we rely on providers with established security programs. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data, we'll notify you as the law requires.

Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Data stored on your device is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Information Google collects for advertising is kept and deleted by Google under its own policies, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your device settings.

Requesting deletion

To have Black Light Logic delete data we hold about you, including any account you've created in one of our apps:

1. Email contact@blacklightlogic.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
2. Tell us which app you use, and send the request from the email address linked to your account, if you have one.
3. We'll confirm your request, then delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to or restrict how we use it. Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act, give you these rights formally.

Email us to make a request. We'll respond within 30 days, may need to verify your identity first, and will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our website and apps are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we'll tell you in the affected app or on this site before it takes effect.
